The first of many Communist-era posters I shot in Berlin. As you know, the pioneers were the young commies and I think all schoolkids had to join (unless you were a Jew, Roma or other undesirables). Also the name Karl Marx Stadt is interesting as that city is now called Chemnitz and is a big city in SE Germany. The date is interesting too as it was just a year before the collapse of their world.
